Cottage of Light

Cottage Charm

Light floods into the windows of  Tia Zoldan's remodled 1920's cottage. "The second I saw this house, I knew it was mine," Tia says of the cottage she shares with her husband and two daughters.

Chic Living Room

Book in hand, Tia relaxes beneath a painting of her design. In her living room she incorporated neutral slip-covers alongside bright turquoise accents and a grass rug for a bohemian, yet child-proof decor.

Mix to Match

Tia paired white linen slipcovers with a traditional wood table and a reupholstered garage sale chair. The taupe walls of the dining area add dimension and frame the rounded ceiling and windows.

Spot Color

Rather than splash her walls with color, Tia chooses to incorporate cheery furniture throughout the cottage. Here, she places a bright green armoire and an aqua blue ottoman inside an otherwise neutral palette.

Breezy Kitchen

The Zoldans' kitchen, originally half its current size, was enlarged by adding beams and 4 feet of ceiling. This expansion, along with the mainly white tableau, created a light, breezy, and highly livable space.

Modern Luxury

An interior designer, mixing modern and traditional is Tia's design philosophy. In the master bedroom, she takes a simple white down comforter and makes it luxurious with a gold brocade headboard, handmade velvet pillows, and a faux mink throw.

Fit for Princesses

Abby and Zoe, Tia's young daughters, share a whimsical bedroom in shades of cranberry and mint green. The room is decked with curtains Tia designed and antiques, such as the bed.
