Step inside a modern home dressed for Christmas

Festive dining room

Retro-chic Christmas dining room
The perfect place for entertaining, this dining room oozes modern festive style. The dining table is the ideal shape for big groups, with plenty of room for a large Christmas feast. The swivel chairs add a retro feel to the space, while an eye-catching chandelier drops a pool of light onto the table.

Stylish kitchen-diner

Open-plan kitchen area
A stylish kitchen-diner is found at the back of the open-plan living space and is perfect for preparing food while entertaining. The sleek, glossy units use clever tricks to hide their functionality. Rather than have an extractor fan hanging over the island and blocking the view of the garden, the owners chose one that rises up behind the hob at the touch of a button.

Dark living room

Basement snug
The owners have dug down to create a basement TV room, and have painted it in darker colours to form a cosy den. With Christmas decorations lining the shelves of the media unit, it's the perfect place to snuggle down in during Christmas afternoon.

Colourful living room

Cosy seating area
An Eastern-inspired rug warms the wooden floors in this cosy basement snug. Christmas cards are pegged to string to form a chain, keeping them at bay. Colourful baubles hang from the blind to add a festive touch to the window. Mix-and-match cushions add interest to the sofa.

Snug living room

With the TV downstairs in the snug, the focus of the ground-floor space is the fireplace, with built-in shelves to display treasures and Christmas decorations. The sofa was re-covered in linen to keep the look light, and teamed with a vintage chair creating a nice mix of old and new.

En-suite bathroom

As well as planning the bathroom in fine detail, the owners paid close attention to the lighting in their ensuite. Uplighters create a zone for the bath, providing soft light and a seamless finish. Glowing lights behind the shelves give holiday finds, and Christmas decorations, impact.

Pink girl's bedroom

Super-glam girl's bedroom
Pretty pink damask wallpaper creates an eye-catching backdrop in this ultra-girlie space, while not being too childish. A matching bedside table has drawers to house all her precious pieces. A canopy over a bed of luxurious bedlinen creates the perfect teen haven. A drawer on wheels pulls out from under the bed for extra storage.

Relaxing bedroom

The aim was to make this converted attic bedroom feel calm, so there is lots of hidden storage to keep the space clutter-free. A false wall has been built behind the bed so they could cut out display spaces and hide a large chimney breast that rises up through the house. Layers of strokeable textiles add to the sensual mood.
