Aubergine high-gloss cabinetry has been topped with white Silestone worksurfaces for a look inspired by a modern kitchen design in New York. Engineered-oak flooring adds warmth to the design.
The larder sits directly above two fridge drawers, so all the food storage is in one area. Thin wire shelves in the door provide added storage.
A built-in stainless-steel microwave and coffee machine match the finish of the fridge drawers, and take clutter away from the worktops.
Blue kitchen tiles
After the kitchen installation was completed, pale blue glass tiles were chosen to ensure they complemented the colour and design of the kitchen.
The dishwasher drawers save on energy as they allow the owners to do a half load. They also blend in seamlessly with the design of the cabinet doors.
The adjoining dining area has a quirky feel, thanks to the display of wall clocks and numbered chairs. Although the space is open plan, the kitchen and dining area have individual feels.
