Take a tour around a colourful beach house

Hallway

The brightly coloured hallway creates a welcoming feel in this three-storey beach house in Montauk, New York.

Living room

The relaxed vibe in the living room is created with warm colours and bright furniture.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the sunniest room in the house and, with windows on three sides, has the best vantage points, too. The blue shade helps blend in with the sky outside.

Living room corner

Fun, unexpected touches, such as this mermaid lamp, can be found throughout the house. The owner customised it herself with an inexpensive white shade and fringing.

Snug

The surf-themed snug is a playful, colourful room, ideal for children.

Dining room

The bold colour on the walls of the dining room makes a real statement. The white chairs, which were painted and reupholstered by the owner, create a stark contrast to the rich colour on the walls.

Bathroom

The hot-pink bathroom has a vibrant, girlie feel.

Upstairs hallway

A cool, calm aquatic theme, inspired by the home's close proximity to the sea, runs throughout the space. On the open staircase and landing, a white, twiggy chandelier is a striking centrepiece.

Guest bedroom

The green bedroom has a boutique-hotel feel, with modern chinoserie and a wallpaper ceiling.
